Explanations

Restricted electives are courses offered by the Physics Department and they are grouped into concentrations: a B.Sc. degree student needs to take four restricted elective courses in total, two of which must be the core courses of one concentration.

Non-departmental electives are courses offered by any METU department excluding the Physics Department. Free electives are courses offered by any METU department including the Physics Department. Technical electives are courses offered by Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics and all Engineering Departments. Students can choose any course from the appropriate department as a non-departmental / free / technical elective as long as the relevant department and the instructor approve it.
